Ibiza bar information, best bars on the island.

Ibiza bar culture revolution continues and with it comes some of the coolest and most buzzing bars in the world. Whether you're looking to sink into a sunset, get oiled for a big night's clubbing or fancy a night out on the tiles that doesn't vacuum your week's wages, it's all here to be had. So check out our guide to the best bars on the island...

Ibiza Town's Bars
BASE BAR - Calle Garijo  The perennially popular portside hangout, Jason Bull's Bar is the obvious starting point for many session and doubles as the surrogate home for clued-up ex-pats, trendsetters and the dance music industry at large - as well as the odd celeb. Warming house sounds keep things grooving and moving without taking over the general vibe, which is one of cool, sophisticated socialising in a friendly well-oiled atmosphere. A must hit hang-out.

K-UBE - Calle Garijo

Another slick, chic portside Ibiza bar, K-ube's trendy, modern interior and lively house/tech soundtrack make it a popular spot Ibiza bar for most younger visitors, whilst the terrace is the perfect place to watch it all glide by. Before it all kicks off, k-ube also boasts a superb sushi menu - perfect for cleansing the palate of last night's over - hanging brewery consumption.

LO CURA - Calle Antonio Mari Ribas A hidden hideaway of nocturnal naughtiness, Lo Cura might be miniature of size but it's one of the Ibiza bar place where you can get lost in for hours - maybe it's the fact that you're always right next to the bar. We Love... resident David Phillips is on hand behind there and occasionally the decks, so the sounds are of a quality house/tech and cosmic disco slant. Seek out.

NOCTAMBULA - Carrer Es Pasadis

Born from the ashes of the Kinki Bar in 1999, Noctambula has become to the Italians what Base Bar is to the Brits - a friendly cosmo-chic Ibiza bar and a fashion conscious pre-club party starter. A fave of Smokin'Jo thanks to its slick soundtrack of minimal and techno, it's located in the old town and runs from 10pm - 4am most nights.

SOAP BAR - Calle Alfonso XII

The biggest Ibiza bar in the island gay village, Soap has the only 6am bar licence in the old town. It comprises of a swanky upstairs bar known as Soap Up and the downstairs club known as Soap Club. Sounds of choice will be smooth bar-house and more upbeat funk-charged grooves. A classy, fun-charged metrosexual hangout.

THE ROCK - Calle Garijo

Filled with slightly older and more battleworn creatures than its next door neighbour Base, The Rock is no less chaotic thanks to its lively atmosphere and highly charged conversation. Either hide away in the cramped interior hollows or soak up the banter and bustle on the portside stools. Another essential Ibiza bar.

KM5 - Ibiza Town - San Jose Rd

Found (wait for this) 5km from Ibiza Town, the ingeniously titled KM5 is one of the island's true bastions of summer reclining. A luxurious Bedouin style oasis nestled in the hills, you'll end up lost in an enchanting garden of Arabic tapestries, sofas and scented candles. Sinking pillows and Balearic beats lull you further into ultimate relaxation.

ZUKA - Calle de la Virgen

One of the most intimate Ibiza bar experiences, Zuka's ambience is curiously akin to the most welcoming private members club you've ever encountered. Much of this can be credited to the owner Mark's convivial character with the ultra-stylish decor adding further understated decadence. The exclusive terrace space only holds two at a time but the lucky couplet are blessed with one of the best panoramic views on the island.

San Antonio's Bars

People Bar - Calle Colón nº 10

Summer 2009 sees the launch of a new charismatic cocktail bar in the heart of San Antonio. ‘PEOPLE’ is a modern, friendly and sociable venue, emerging from a successful warm up winter season, bringing a fresh flavor to Ibiza’s well known west end.

‘PEOPLE’ will be hosting a selection of spectacular events, from its own signature nights to pre parties, club pre-sale tickets and unique monthly promotions and resident DJs. Embracing the Spanish influence, ‘PEOPLE’ will be one of San Antonio’s finest cocktail venues, with its distinctive ambiance. This dual bar venue seeks to get its name branded on everyone’s lips this summer.

BAR M - Avienda Dr Fleming
Bar M might no longer be hosting the riotous Ibiza Rocks sessions but it remains a favourite with lively pre-parties going on most nights. Do a left at The Egg on the approach from Ibiza town and it's 400 metres up the road. Like Manumission - and Ibiza Rocks - expect tunes to be as riotously contemporary and cross-genre as possible.

CAFE MAMBO - Sunset Strip

There are few more iconic places to start your night than at Cafe Mambo. With pre-parties every night, regular guests include Nic Fanciulli, Pete Gooding and James Zabiela, whilst pre-sunset musical offerings keep things horizontal and eclectic. Okay, the Selection broadcasts are no more but Mambo is still our favourite place to kickstart a night's hedonism and we're not alone in saying it.

CAFE PARADIS - Carrer de Salvador Espiru

Found right next to Es Paradis, this reasonably priced Miami styled club lounge is the perfect place to soak up a per-club cocktail or five.
Drink yourself silly without needing a second mortgage and then duck next for a night of full-on debauchery in Es Paradis.

COASTLINE CAFE - Calle Cevantes

Ultra-chic, Coastline is perfect for some daytime chilling thanks to its pools and Jacuzzis but also hosts nightly pre-parties to get your rave on. With a soundtrack of chilled house and another iconic sunset vista, Coastline is the perfect place to sit back, sink into your cocktail and watch another Ibiza bar sunset drift under the Mad. A cheap-as-chips restaurant makes this a good call for early evening nosh as well.

HUSH BAR - West End

Another workers favourite Ibiza bar, Hush has a spacious swanky interior that usually rocks right through to 6am and usually hits full flow after 2am. Regular parties dish out quality underground electro, minimal and house sounds with Friday night's infamous Slut Party one particularly debauched and flesh-barind addition.

ITACA BAR - Avienda Dr Fleming

Itaca's design style is a cross between a Mayan temple and an ancient Greek ruin. Classy, chilled and found next to Bar M, Itaca supplies a quality Ibiza bar snacks and breakfasts by day, whilst offering over 30 different cocktail concoctions by night. A bustling, lively pre-club drinking den with a discerning San An clientele.

KANYA - Calle Soletat

Neighbouring Coastline and Sunsea bar, Kanya last year underwent a vast makeover to include a luxury apartment complex with a large terrace, restaurant and an indoor dancefloor - boasting a 6am licence. So there's something for all occasions whether it be poolside drinking, daytime chilling, pre-club eating or peak-time partying.

KUMHARAS - Port des Torrent

The Bay area's only official sunset Ibiza bar, Kumharas is a shrine to owner Maymo's many world travels with a Cambodian dragon seat, Buddhist water fountains, Moroccan restaurant and replica Ibicenco pirate tower. A chilled, hippie friendly Ibiza bar alternative to the Sunset Strip's many iconic offerings.

ORANGE CORNER - Avienda Dr Fleming

The Orange corner is a all day beach Ibiza bar that comes well stocked in sunbeds (99 to be exact0 and offers quality service (they smile and everything), bar snacks, cooked food (check the legendary "special baguette") and big screen TVs - check the cult '80s classics. Lots of deals for workers, as well as rocking pre-parties with funky house, disco, hip-hop and soul.

PLASTIK - Avienda Dr Fleming

Coming into its own since moving to Avienda Dr Fleming, the award-winning Plastik is largely considered the initial touchpaper Ibiza bar that has ignited the West End's gradual upmarket. A strict no football shirts rule, a discerning good looking crowd, quality house and electro sounds and pre-parties for both Wonderland and Judgement Sundays make Plastik a good Ibiza bar in all departments.

SAVANNAH - Sunset Strip

The biggest bar on the strip, Savannah can also lay claim to one of the most sizeable terraces - boasting a VIP view of the daily sundown.
All wooden decking and plush interior, Savannah also offers a quality food menu and a soothing soundtrack to wind down your mind. The classiest sunset on the strip by a long chalk.

SUNSEA - Calle Cervantes

Situated at the North end of the famous San An shores, the Sunsea Bar is open every day from 11am with regular daytime beach and pool parties. As night falls, pre-party mode rocks into gear - over the years everyone from Armin Van Buuren to Steve Lawler has played here. A chic, smart, yet relaxing sunset Ibiza bar.

VIVA BAR - West End

Last year's success story, Viva remains the workers' haunt of choice and it's not hard to see why with pints at 1 euro for them. Everything from underground minimal to dirty electro (i.e. nothing commercial) will be played until 6am indoors.
Well, if you don't include the anything-goes pop tarts fest of Monday funday. It's open decks so if you're looking to make a name, where better to start?

EL VIPER - Carrer del Metge Josep Mateu Gasull

Hidden on a back street between the Sunset Strip and West End, El Viper is a popular retreat Ibiza bar for workers, DJs and island regulars who want to escape the chaotic crowds. Drinks are fairly priced with chunky, funky beats injecting that Friday feeling. Hunt it out and be privy to a quality those-in-the-know drinking den.

Off The Beaten Track Bars

BLUE MARLIN BAR - Cala Jondal

One of most popular Ibiza bar club beach, the Blue Marlin is well worth the trip out and somehow blends lively hedonistic parties and a chic sense of style without compromising the hippy essence of Cala Jondal. But then most hippies are rich and love a good party. A sumptuous seafood slanted restaurant, an indoor dance area and a spacious reclining decking area (beds as standard) make this a nice Ibiza bar spot for all occasions.

GUARANA BAR- Santa Eulalia

Kicking off every night at 8pm, Guarana is a chic, trendy bar in the Northern upmarket enclaves of Santa Eulalia. The infamous Los Pirates will also be hosting monthly session on Fridays with underground DJs like Bushwacka! and more snagged up to appear. Perfect if you want a more authentic, intimate Ibizan experience without forgoing the obligatory hedonism.

Enjoy your trip to Ibiza...!
